Jai alai

Yesterday, the boys had a class about Basque sports and today they went to a frontón to see and try out jai alai.

Gernika, Mundaka and San Juan Gaztelugatxe

Today we traveled to Gernika to see the most important Basque symbol, the tree which is where the people would meet to settle disputes and make laws.  These laws are what the Basque wanted to preserve and help to maintain their identity.  We then stopped at the surfer town of Mundaka and then the scenic hike up to the hermitage.  I'll let the pictures to the talking.

Futbol with Real Sociedad

Today's activity took us to Zubieta, Real Socidad's training grounds.  The boys had a tour of the facility and some training sessions.

Pintxos en La Parte Vieja

Tonight we headed to the old town area which is full of small restaurants that have delicious little plates called pintxos.  The idea is to have the best one at an establishment and then move on to the next restaurant.
