Arrival in San Sebastián

We had a short, easy flight to San Sebastián and the boys met their host parents.




Casa Carmela

 The boys explored the city of Valencia and headed to the beach for a paella lunch at on of Valencia’s best spots.  They also had a cheese tasting at the very respected Mercat Central.

Seville to Valencia to Paella

 Yesterday the boys said goodbye to their host familias and took a high speed train to Valencia.  Today we headed to the orange groves and rice fields that gave birth to paella.  They learned how to make the authentic version, Paella Valenciana.

Bellas Artes

 Seville has a fabulous museum highlighted by a great collection of Murillo paintings and in a beautiful building.




Jabugo Ham

 We went to the source of the best ham in the world, Jamón Ibérico de Bellota in the Jabugo region.

Barbate

 Today we went to Barbate and Trafalgar.  We went to a museum dedicated to explaining the Phoenician way of catching tuna which is still used today.  We also went to El Campero, one of the best restaurants in the world that specializes in this type of tuna.  Then the boys had a chance to see the famous site of the French, Spanish and English battle of Trafalgar.
