El cortijo

We just returned from a full day on a true Andalusian ranch, called a cortijo.  The boys learned how bulls are raised for bullfights.  They also learned how to make gazpacho and they had a chance to enter the ring with a baby bull.  We also had a bullfighter to explain his craft and answer questions.  Yesterday's invited teacher gave the boys a hands on explanation of Spanish breakfasts and the many cultures that have lived in Sevilla throughout the years.

Spanish cinema and Roman ruins

Yesterdays invited teacher described the history of Spanish cinema.  Today took a public bus to the town of Santiponce to see the Roman ruins of Itálica.  The days have been quite hot, but the nights have been perfect for being out on the street.
