We landed on time at Madrid's Barajas Airport and headed straight for our hotel, which is well situated among the famous art museums in the center of the city. We headed out for breakfast where the boys ordered their meal and enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice. The boys toured Real Madrid's stadium. Then it was off to El Brillante where they had the most typical of Spanish lunches: calamari sandwich, chistorra sausage, Iberian ham, tortilla de patatas, Cantabrian anchovies and patatas bravas (french fries with a slightly spicy tomato sauce.) The boys then saw the main sights of downtown Madrid like Retiro Park, Puerta de Sol, Plaza Mayor and then spent some time in the Museo del Prado.
