We headed to the classic train station, Atocha, to catch a train to the more nondescript station, Chamartín, to take a short train ride to Segovia, where we toured the famous Alcázar palace, the cathedral, and lunched on the super-famous suckling pig at Cándido restaurant, right next to the 1st century Roman aqueduct.
We returned to Madrid to explore the Puerta de Sol and Plaza Mayor area of Madrid.
