Córdoba

We had a fabulous visit to one of the most important cities in world history.  Córdoba was an intellectual hub around the 11th century.  It was a place where a good period of time Muslims, Jews and Christians lived well together and philosophy, advances in medicine, libraries and universities flourished.  We saw Roman (Seneca was born here), Visigoth, Muslim and Catholic eras, culminating with a visit to the Cathedral, which was a grand mosque and Visigoth church in its history.  We were also able to enjoy a lunch in a restaurant that specialized in Sephardic cuisine and a peek at some of the patios famous in Córdoba.

On our way back, we stopped and had full run of a beautifully kept up castle, called Castillo Almadóvar, that was used for many scenes in Game of Thrones.
