Toledo

Yours truly with Chef Juanjo

We headed out to Toledo this morning, the first time in many years that this program has visited this place that has so much history.  We toured the Cathedral and had a close look at how the artisans make demasquinado crafts, which is a gold inlay on steel.  After a good walk through the center we headed back to Madrid.  Most of the boys really wanted to tour Real Madrid's stadium, so they headed of for that with Mr Collier while a coupe of boys wanted to rest up for our big, fancy dinner at La Tasquita de Enfrente.  Chef Juanjo is pretty famous and puts a very modern spin on classic Spanish cuisine.  We had many courses, such as blood sausage blended with squash, octopus ceviche, cod croquet done tempura style, pork cheek, and sardines (they are so much better here that they don't even resemble what we get in the US.  Juanjo came out to chat with us now and then throughout the meal.  The boys then got to enjoy Plaza Santa Ana and meet back up with us at the statue of Lorca.  We are all excited to get to Sevilla tomorrow!
